Abstract:

In the present research, the D-(+)-Glucose–confined water nanodroplets with mean size in the range of 6-11 nm were synthesized at D-(+)-Glucose different concentrations by AOT reverse micelles (RMs) method as a function of mass fraction of droplet (MFD) at the constant water-to-surfactant molar ratio ( W=40). The Dynamic light scattering of the nano-sized water droplets containing the D-(+)-Glucose monosaccharide showed that interaction between the nanometer-sized AOT droplets changed from attractive to repulsive as the hydrophilic D-(+)-Glucose concentration increased as a function of MFD. The hydroDynamic diameter of water droplets increased as concentration of D-(+)-Glucose monosaccharide decreased in the water-in-oil AOT microemulsion.

Abstract:

The development and design of the biocompatible and biodegradable thermoDynamically stable micellar and microemulsion transparent dispersions to reduce the free and unbounded drugs concentration in the blood is a basic challenge in field of drug efficacy and bioavailability of drugs. In the current work, solubilization capacity of the drug (Tocopherol), oil (Ethyl Butyrate), and oil+drug (1: 1 molar ratio) into F127 pluronic microemulsions was studied as a function of F127 concentration by using turbidity or transparency experiments. F127-based oil-in-water microemulsions with different compositions were synthesized and titrated with drug (Tocopherol), oil (Ethyl Butyrate), and oil+drug (1: 1 molar ratio), separately, to determine clear /turbid transition zone. It was observed that at certain concentration of Pluronic F127, microemulsion samples were gel-like. This specific concentration of F127 was different for three systems mentioned. It also observed that by increasing concentration of fatty acid of sodium caprylate (SC) in the system, solutions became transparent. By the current experiments, it was possible to determine the optimal binding ratio of F127 and/or sodium caprylate to ethyl butyrate oil, Tocopherol drug, and oil+drug (1: 1 molar ratio) in microemulsion. To study the bounding process of the fatty acid to the F127 within microemulsion, the microemulsion formulations were characterized by means of the Dynamic surface tension and Dynamic light scattering. According to this effort, we have concluded that there are approximately 1 molecule of oil for every 2 molecule of F127 (for system titration with oil), approximately 4 molecules of Tocopherol Drug for every 100 molecule of F127 (for system titration with drug), and approximately 4 molecule from the oil+drug (1: 1 molar ratio) for every 5 molecule of F127 (for system titration with oil+drug (1: 1 molar ratio) in the optimal microemulsion formulation. These results highlight the useful information about the mechanism of binding of the tocopherol, oil, and oil: drug mixture (1: 1 molar ratio) to the F127 microemulsion.

Abstract:

Particle characterization is a principal factor in the research and development of the product, production, and material quality control. Particle size plays a critical role in the borderline sciences, such as biotechnology and nanotechnology. In this study, light scattering devices ( Dynamic and Static) and their theory is discussed. Also, suggest theory to calculate form factor of scattering such as Rayleigh and Mi e was explained.

Abstract:

ARTIFICIAL ENZYMES CAN BE CONSIDERED A PART OF BIOMIMETIC CHEMISTRY. AN ALTERNATIVE APPROACH TO THE PREPARATION OF ROBUST BIOCATALYSTS CONSISTS IN THE ENCAPSULATION OF METALLOPORPHYRINS INTO WATER-SOLUBLE HYDROPHOBIC POCKET, AS MICELLES, VESICLES1, THAT MIMIC THE POLYPEPTIDE ENVELOPE, WHICH PROTECTS THE CATALYTIC CENTER INTO INACTIVE COMPLEXES. SO THESE STUDIES ALSO CAN BE CLASSIFIED INTO COLLOID CHEMISTRY AS PART OF INTERFACES IN SOLUTIONS. THE ELECTRONIC PROPERTIES AND BIOCHEMICAL FUNCTIONS OF HEME PROSTHETIC GROUP AS AN ACTIVE-SITE OF HORSERADISH PEROXIDASE (HRP) IS STRONGLY DEPENDED ON THE NATURE OF THE PROTEIN ENVIRONMENT SURROUNDING THE HEME GROUP. TO GAIN MORE QUANTITATIVE INSIGHTS TO STUDY OF STRUCTURAL FEATURE OF HEME-IMIDAZOLE IN SDS MICELLE (AS ARTIFICIAL PEROXIDASE ENZYME) AT DIFFERENT IONIC STRENGTH Dynamic light scattering (DLS) WAS USED. THE DISTRIBUTIONS OF DIFFERENT SIZES IN EACH SAMPLE INDICATE THAT IONIC STRENGTH HAS LARGE EFFECT ON THE BIOCATALYST’S SHAPE AND STRUCTURE. DATA HAS SHOWN THAT SIZES OF PARTICLES HAVE GROWN BY INCREASING OF IONIC STRENGTH. ZETA POTENTIALS OF HEME-IMIDAZOLE-SDS IN VARIOUS PHOSPHATE BUFFER CONCENTRATIONS (PH=7.4) ALSO CONFIRM DIFFERENT STRUCTURE VIA DIFFERENT CHARGED SDS AGGREGATION IN VARIOUS BUFFER CONCENTRATIONS. THE STRUCTURE OF PEROXIDASE-LIKE NANO BIOCATALYST SYSTEM CONTAINING HEME-SDS MICELLE AND HEME-IMIDAZOLE-SDS MICELLE WERE FOUND TO BE DEPENDENT ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL ELECTRONIC PROPERTIES OR IONIC STRENGTH. THE DIFFERENT FORMATION OF SDS MICELLE IN VARIOUS IONIC STRENGTHS MAY PRODUCE DIFFERENT POSITION FOR HEME MOIETY AS A PEROXIDASE ACTIVE SITE VIA INTER AND INTRA MOLECULAR INTERACTIONS. THIS STUDY INDICATES THAT THE EVOLUTION OF BIOCATALYST EFFICIENCY TOWARDS NATIVE PEROXIDASE IS RELATIVE TO THE ENZYME STRUCTURE.

Abstract:

Glistenings are fluid-filled microvacuoles that form within the intraocular lens (IOLs) optic when the IOL is in an aqueous environment. They are observed in all types of IOLs but have been mainly associated with hydrophobic acrylic IOLs. Experimental and clinical studies suggest that various hydrophobic acrylic IOLs on the market exhibit different tendencies toward Glistenings. Factors influencing Glistening formation include IOL material composition, manufacturing technique, packaging, associated conditions such as glaucoma or those leading to breakdown of the blood–aqueous barrier, as well as concurrent use of ocular medications. Although the impact of Glistenings on postoperative visual function and the evolution of Glistenings in the late postoperative period remain controversial, IOL explantation has rarely been reported. The phenomenon of surface light scattering has also been described in association with hydrophobic acrylic IOLs. Its mechanism of formation is controversial but may be related to long-term phase separation water near the IOL surface, although not seen as microvacuoles.Financial Disclosure: The author has no financial or proprietary interest in any material or method mentioned.

Abstract:

In this work, we determined the analytical expressions of the form factor of a cubical particle in the WKB approximation. We adapted some variables (size parameter, refractive index, the scattering angle) and found the form factor in the approximation of Rayleigh-Gans-Debye (RGD), Anomalous Diffraction (AD), and determined the efficiency factor of the extinction. Finally, to illustrate our formalism, we analyzed some numerical examples.
